São Tomé- 31 August 2023. The African Peer Review Mechanism’s chief Executive Office, led a support mission to the democratic Republic of São Tomé and Principe from 30 - 31 August 2023 to sensitise government officials, the private sector, and civil societies on the scheduled Targeted Reviews on Tourism as a driver of economic, social, and cultural development in São Tomé and Principe against various shocks related to natural disasters.
The team was hosted by H.E Patrice Emery Trovoada who was very excited about the proposed topics and the positive role they can play in the country’s economy. He assured the APRM of his country ‘s readiness to undertake the Targeted Reviews before the end of the year 2023.
